Heat Detector

The heat detector on a fire alarm system is a device with the sole purpose of detecting excessive heat. While there are many devices that are used in many ways to detect the presence of smoke and fire, a heat detector uses advanced technology to sense variable heat temperate rather than particle matter.

A fire alarm heat detector is required to be interconnected with smoke detectors to provide early detection and warning of fire. It is designed to activate the fire system when a certain temperature is detected. Keep in mind that heat detectors will not respond to smoke and should not be used to in place of a smoke detector, but a supplement to a complete functional commercial fire alarm system in accordance to the national fire alarm code and federal, state and local authorities having jurisdiction.
